The Manufacturing Process of the Manuel Rinaldi Artisan Knitting Mill

Learn about all stages of our production process, from the selection of yarns to the hand finishing that makes each garment unique.

How a Quality Garment is Born

Our artisan knitting mill production process is based on more than 60 years of experience and passion for Made in Italy quality. Learn about all the steps that transform fine yarns into unique and elegant knitwear garments.

The choice of yarns: the heart of quality

The quality of a knitwear garment depends largely on the selection of yarns and fabrics used in its manufacture.

Thanks to our experience in the industry, we carefully select the best raw materials, ensuring optimal yield for each type of product.

Each collection comes to life from a careful search for yarns, chosen according to their characteristics and processed with specific techniques to best enhance their qualities.

Materials are tested and processed to verify their versatility and final performance, ensuring that each knit meets our knitting mill’s standards of excellence.

For the winter season, we employ fine yarns such as cashmere, merino wool and viscose. For spring and summer collections, we use light and natural fibers such as cotton, linen, viscose and cashmere blends, aiming to ensure comfort and sophistication in each garment.

The knitting process

Our knitwear features a wide range of knitting stitches, each of which lends uniqueness and style to the garment.

With over 60 years of experience, our archive contains thousands of workmanships to choose from.

Among the main knitting stitches we make are ribs, English knit, jacquard, inlay and links, available on different finenesses and yarns.

100% Made in Italy

Our knitwear factory has always stood for authentic Made in Italy, a value that guides us at every stage of production.

Quality, creativity and elegance are the pillars of our philosophy, distinctive elements that have made Made in Italy an internationally recognized brand of prestige.

We produce for private labels and brands that seek craftsmanship skills, fine raw materials, and a high level of professionalism.

Each garment is born from a combination of tradition and innovation, keeping Italian craftsmanship and manufacturing excellence alive.

Craft techniques

Our production is based on traditional methods, with the use of specialized machinery and hand workmanship ensuring flawless finishes.

Among the finest craft techniques we use are linking and hand finishing, details that give our garments a higher level of quality.

A family business: tradition and innovation

For over 60 years, our knitting mill has been carrying on a family tradition of passion and dedication.

Today, the third and fourth generations continue the path started by founder Maria Salvadori, with the same determination and desire to innovate without losing sight of the craftsmanship roots.

Led by siblings Samanta and Alessandro, and now also by young Manuel, representative of the new generation, our goal is to keep the identity of the company alive, preserving the value of Made in Italy and the excellence of craftsmanship.

The Stages of the Knitting Mill Production Process

Research, Design and Development for Brand and Private Label

Each collection is born from a careful analysis of trends.

We design patterns for our brands and private label clients, defining every structural detail.

From Drawing to Prototype

Each garment is first born on paper, where its structure is defined.

Next, the pattern is transformed into a digital knitting program, allowing the first prototype to be made.

A refinement process follows, with modifications and adjustments until the optimal result is achieved.

Weaving: Heart of Artisan Knitting

The yarn is woven stitch by stitch. We do complex work such as ribbing, English knitting, jacquard, intarsia, on different finenesses, depending on the type of yarn chosen.

The Clipping: Precision Craftsmanship

Invisible stitching of parts is done by “hand linking,” a traditional technique that ensures superior fit and durability.

Hand Finishing in the Artisan Process: the Detail that Makes the Difference

Each garment is finished by hand: applications, stitching, eyelets and buttonholes are checked one by one to ensure a flawless result.

Washing: Softness and Comfort

Through specific washes for each fiber, we enhance the softness and fit of the garment.

Each step respects the nature of the yarn used.

Quality Control: Only Excellence

Each garment is ironed, labeled and packed with care after passing tests on luminous dummies.

Only excellence reaches the customer.

Labeling, Ironing and Packaging

In the last stage, each garment is labeled, ironed and measured accurately.

After a final check, it is carefully packed and prepared for shipment to the customer.
